About me

I fell in love with the Chesapeake Bay while doing research for a class so, after completing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science emphasis biology, I moved to the Virginia Beach area in search of employment opportunities in the area of wetland restoration.

Instead of finding a job, I found a master’s degree program at East Carolina University in Greenville NC. I am now a grad student of Dr. Marcelo Ardon and will be studying the greenhouse gas (GHG) flux in the Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. I am funded by a grant from the Nature Conservancy (TNC) and will be working along side scientist from the TNC as well as the USFW and USGS.

When not studying I enjoy running, biking, kayaking, and playing with grandchildren.
